Philippine agencies launch BARMM integrated housing initiative

The Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA), the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), and the Philippine Community Housing Corporation (PCHC) have signed a memorandum of understanding to launch the ‘Building Better Moro Homes’ initiative. This project aims to provide affordable housing and integrated community facilities in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

Beyond residential units, the initiative plans to develop essential infrastructure, including schools, masjids, madrasas, health centers, livelihood hubs, solar-powered energy systems, and water and sanitation facilities. MinDA will act as the strategic facilitator, DHSUD will provide technical standards, and PCHC will work to mobilize private sector investment to support the development and camp transformation in the region.
