Philippine Ambassador plants native trees at Nong Nooch Pattaya

The Philippine Ambassador to Thailand, Millicent Cruz Paredes, participated in a tree-planting event titled ‘Planting Thai Trees for Thailand’ at Nong Nooch Pattaya on August 30, 2026. The activity, held at the botanical garden near Khao Bandai Krit, serves as a symbol of international friendship and a commitment to passing a green legacy to future generations.

Ambassador Paredes planted a ‘Lueat Bai Lek’ tree, a native perennial species found naturally in southern Thailand, to support the conservation of local flora. Kampon Tansajja, Chairman of Nong Nooch Pattaya, stated that the site aims to become a center for collecting, conserving, and studying rare and valuable perennial plants from Thailand and around the world.

Nong Nooch Pattaya has received permission from the Royal Forest Department to develop over 43 rai of land into a complete botanical garden. The organization is responsible for the costs associated with land development, plant collection, planting, and ongoing maintenance.
