Philippine game developers receive strategic boost at PGDX 2026

The Philippine game development industry is receiving significant institutional and corporate support following the Philippine GameDev Expo (PGDX) 2026. The Department of Trade and Industry–Export Marketing Bureau (DTI-EMB), Xsolla, and the Game Developers Association of the Philippines (GDAP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to transform local studios into globally competitive entities.

The tripartite agreement aims to enhance export readiness, commercial success, and talent elevation through mentorship, workshops, and international trade missions. DTI-EMB will focus on export promotion, Xsolla will provide expertise in game commerce and global distribution, and GDAP will coordinate local industry participation.

Additionally, PLDT Home supported the expo, highlighting the growing maturity of the local scene which features a diverse range of titles, from folklore-inspired indie games to competitive action titles. The event showcased the ability of Filipino creators to compete alongside global brands by leveraging local storytelling and innovation.
