Philippine water firms invest ₱570 million in upgrades for Bulacan and Lucena cities
Metro Pacific Water (MPW) is committing ₱70 million to a new 3.4‑km transmission pipeline that will link the Tanawin Reservoir to the Igay Reservoir in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan. The Phase I project is expected to add 15 million liters per day of treated water, serving about 15,000 households and improving pressure and reliability as the region faces aging infrastructure and reduced Angat Dam levels.
Hiraya Water Corp. (HWC) is allocating P500 million for 14 water‑works projects in Lucena City, Quezon province. The works include pipe replacement, reservoir retrofitting, bypass line construction and source development, aiming to extend water availability from 12 to 18 hours initially and eventually provide continuous 24‑hour service. Both initiatives seek to strengthen distribution systems and address long‑standing water‑supply challenges in their respective cities.
