Philippines and New Zealand expand climate and environmental partnership

The Philippines and New Zealand have signed a memorandum of arrangement (MOA) to expand their partnership in climate action and environmental protection. The agreement, signed in Wellington, establishes a framework for joint environmental projects and the exchange of technical expertise.

The cooperation aims to explore areas covered by Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, including biodiversity conservation, nature markets, sustainable development, and climate mitigation and adaptation. This development follows the elevation of relations between the two nations to a Comprehensive Partnership in July 2026 and coincides with the 60th anniversary of their diplomatic relations.
