Philippines brand mentions in Google AI Overviews surge 23-fold

A 12-month study by digital agency Truelogic reveals that mentions of Philippine brands in Google AI Overviews increased more than 23-fold during 2025. This shift coincides with a 3 to 8 percent decline in organic branded web traffic across 80 monitored Philippine websites, though the study notes no direct cause-and-effect relationship between the two trends.

The research tracked 80 brands across seven industries, finding that retail, e-commerce, and real estate experienced the highest growth in AI search visibility. Successful brands typically featured high search interest, well-organized content, and optimized websites.

As consumers move from traditional link-based searching to conversational AI queries for summaries and recommendations, businesses are being urged to adapt. Bernard San Juan III, Managing Partner of Truelogic, stated that visibility now requires making expertise easy for AI to verify and organizing content around specific customer questions. Additionally, data from the Digital 2026 report indicates that 42.4 percent of Filipino internet users used ChatGPT in the previous month, ranking the Philippines sixth globally in AI adoption.
