Philippines enhances public service access via digital portals and service caravans

Government entities in the Philippines are implementing initiatives to increase the accessibility of public services through digital platforms and physical service caravans.

The Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte has enhanced its official online portal to provide residents with remote access to essential information. The digital platform allows users to check for local job opportunities, scholarship applications, weather advisories, and health services, including district hospital locations and medical assistance programs. Governor Cecilia Araneta-Marcos noted the website aims to bring provincial services directly to citizens via desktop and mobile devices.

In Iloilo City, the Department of Finance is organizing a Government-Owned or -Controlled Corporations’ (GOCCs) Service Caravan. This event brings together 19 government agencies to provide on-site assistance for tax, social protection, and civil registry services. Participating agencies include the Social Security System (SSS), the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), and the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), offering services such as National ID registration, TIN issuance, and benefit inquiries.
