Philippines, Indonesia battle for 9th place at AVC U18 Volleyball

At the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Boys' U18 Championship in Haikou, China, Indonesia's U18 men's team defeated Bahrain 3‑0 (26‑16, 25‑18, 25‑23), earning the right to face the Philippines for the tournament’s ninth‑place match. Coach Odyk Hermanto said the squad still lacked aggressiveness and needed to improve its overall play.

The Philippines advanced by sweeping Australia 3‑0 (25‑20, 30‑28, 25‑20). Outside hitter Al‑Raqib Dais delivered a standout performance with 25 points, propelling the Filipinos within one win of a historic ninth‑place finish and setting up the showdown with Indonesia.
