Philippines: Inflation and corruption emerge as top national concerns
A recent Pulse Asia survey conducted from September 17 to 24 indicates that inflation is a primary concern for Filipinos, with 71 percent of respondents citing it as one of the three most urgent national issues. This represents a 14 percentage point increase from the 57 percent recorded in a July survey.
Controlling inflation was ranked as the top issue by 36 percent of respondents. Other significant concerns identified by the public include graft and corruption (39 percent), increasing worker pay (36 percent), and fighting criminality (24 percent).
In response to the findings, Malacañang officials stated that the government is actively working to address hunger and provide necessary assistance to citizens in need.
