Philippines investment approvals reach ₱900 billion in nine months
The Philippines Board of Investments (BOI) approved ₱900.06 billion in investments from January to September 2026, marking a 53.05% increase compared to the same period in 2025. This figure represents 90% of the government's ₱1 trillion full-year target.
The energy sector was the primary driver of this growth, with electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply accounting for ₱740.14 billion, or approximately 82.23% of total approvals. This sector saw a 75.2% increase from the previous year, fueled by projects in hydropower, wind, and solar energy.
A total of 207 projects were approved, which are projected to generate 21,524 jobs across the country. In September 2026 alone, investment approvals surged to ₱278.21 billion, a 392.5% year-on-year increase from the ₱56.49 billion recorded in September 2025.
