Philippines law enforcement conducts multiple drug and smuggling operations

Law enforcement agencies across the Philippines conducted several successful operations against illegal drugs and smuggling in mid-October 2026.

In Tawi-Tawi, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) seized approximately 500 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱3.4 million in Bongao. The operation involved a shootout after suspects opened fire and escaped via speedboat.

In Butuan City, a joint operation by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 13 and PDEA-Caraga resulted in the arrest of two men and the seizure of 21.4 grams of suspected shabu worth ₱145,520.

In General Santos City, police arrested two men and confiscated ₱117,776 worth of suspected shabu along with a .45-caliber pistol following a pursuit operation in Barangay Sinawal.

Additionally, in Davao Oriental, a joint anti-smuggling operation led to the arrest of a police corporal and an alleged member of the Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU) for the possession of seven master cases of illicit cigarettes.
