Philippines sees deadly school shooting and land‑dispute clash leaving multiple casualties

A shooting at San Jose National High School in Tacloban City left three students dead and at least 20 wounded. The two suspects, aged 14 and 15, were arrested after the attack, which police say may have been triggered by bullying. President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ordered a thorough investigation and called for tighter security in schools.

In Taguig City, a land‑dispute confrontation turned violent when a guard’s shotgun was seized and used in a struggle. Five people were injured by shotgun pellets and three security guards were also wounded. Police detained the guards and several civilians, and seized 13 firearms for forensic analysis.
