Prominent Filipino cryptocurrency influencers, including web3 creator Icesteam Jimenez and financial educator Coach Miranda Miner (Arlone Abello), reported recent social‑engineering attacks that used legitimate platforms such as LinkedIn, Calendly and Google Meet to trick victims into installing malicious software. Jimenez described a fake podcast invitation that led to a malicious StreamYard link, while Miner warned of a fraudulent LinkedIn recruiter that directed users to a malicious assessment site.

Separately, local tech distributor Trends & Technologies and cybersecurity firm Cyble briefed Philippine enterprises and government agencies on the rapid rise of AI‑driven cyber threats. They highlighted a 1,265% increase in phishing attacks linked to generative AI, an average AI‑powered breach cost of $5.72 million, a typical detection time of 181 days, and ransomware recovery costs averaging $1.5 million. Both parties urged organizations to adopt proactive threat‑intelligence solutions and improve visibility into emerging risks.
