Philippines: SHFC and TESDA partner to provide livelihood training

The Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) have signed a memorandum of agreement to provide skills training and livelihood opportunities to housing beneficiaries. The agreement was signed on October 29 in Taguig City by SHFC President and CEO Federico Laxa and TESDA Director General Jose Francisco “Kiko” Benitez.

The initiative aims to move beyond providing housing units and land titles by offering transformative programs that improve the earning capacity of beneficiaries. The partnership will initially serve approximately 150 families from the Megaville 2 Homeowners Association, who are part of the Enhanced Community Mortgage Program under the Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program.

Training programs will include vocational skills such as automotive servicing, bread and pastry production, dressmaking, bartending, and plumbing. Additionally, the partnership will offer digital skills training in areas such as virtual assistant services, data analytics, and social media content creation.
