Philippines Toll Regulatory Board approves CAVITEX rate hikes
The Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) has approved a second tranche of toll fee adjustments for the seven-kilometer Cavitex R1 Expressway Extension, effective October 28. The increase affects the stretch between Zapote, Las Piñas, and Kawit, Cavite, which serves over 50,000 motorists daily.
Under the new rates, Class 1 vehicles will pay P103, an increase of P15 from the previous P88. Class 2 vehicles will see a P31 increase to P207, while Class 3 vehicles will be charged P310, up P46 from P264. This adjustment is the final installment of petitions filed in 2020 and 2023 by Cavitex Infrastructure Corp. and the Philippine Reclamation Authority.
To mitigate the impact, Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. (MPTC) will continue relief measures. The ABANTE Program, providing toll rebates to accredited public utility vehicles such as jeepneys and buses, will resume for 60 days starting October 28. Additionally, toll rebates for vehicles transporting agricultural products will remain in effect until November 30 to support the movement of goods.
