Philippos Darlas analyzes Greek football derbies and title favorites

Former international defender Philippos Darlas shared his analysis of the current Greek football season during an appearance on ERT3’s “O Kosmos ton Spor.”

Darlas identified Panathinaikos as the primary favorite to win the championship, noting that the team possesses a complete roster with sufficient depth to compete for all available titles. He praised the squad’s attacking variety and the ability to maintain competitive solutions from both the starting lineup and the bench.

Regarding PAOK, Darlas discussed the team’s recent performances, comparing their strong showing against OFI to their more problematic second-half display against AEK. He noted that while the coach’s tactical shifts can trigger reactions, PAOK continues to struggle with defensive stability and a lack of consistency in the central defensive pairing.

Additionally, Darlas commented on the challenges faced by AEK in managing a demanding schedule involving domestic competitions and European play. He also observed that Aris appears significantly more stable compared to previous seasons.
