Philips Ambilight TV becomes official Assassin’s Creed partner in Europe

TP Vision has announced a European partnership between Philips Ambilight TV and Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed franchise. The agreement, unveiled at Gamescom 2026 in Cologne, establishes Philips Ambilight TV as the official ‘Immersive TV Partner’ for the gaming series through December 2027.

The collaboration aims to demonstrate how television technologies—such as high refresh rates, low latency, adaptive synchronization, and spatial sound—can enhance modern gaming experiences. A central focus is the Ambilight technology, which uses LEDs on the back of the television to project colors from the screen onto the surrounding walls, extending the visual atmosphere of the game into the room.

To complement this, certain 2026 Philips models feature AmbiScape technology, which synchronizes lighting with compatible smart lighting fixtures. The partnership highlights specific gaming features including HDMI 2.1, FreeSync, NVIDIA G-SYNC, and the P5 AI Picture Engine. Featured hardware for the gaming lineup includes the OLED811 premium model, the 85-inch MLED981 Mini LED, and the PQS9001 QLED variant.
