Philips Hue releases app update with AI automation features

Signify has released version 6.4.0 of the Philips Hue app, introducing several new features focused on artificial intelligence and spatial awareness. The update includes Custom AI Behaviors, which allow users to create lighting automations using text descriptions. This AI assistant translates written requests into specific triggers, conditions, and actions for lamps and accessories. Access to this feature requires a Bridge Pro.

The update also expands SpatialAware capabilities to entire zones, allowing for spatially optimized scenes while maintaining individual room layouts. Additionally, the app now provides scene recommendations tailored to specific rooms or zones that account for the time of day. For users utilizing Screen Sync, the setup process has been improved with a pinch-to-zoom function for easier corner placement and automatic synchronization notifications.
