Philips Hue to expand smart lighting with cheaper Sync Box

Philips Hue is reportedly preparing to expand its smart lighting lineup with several new products. Leaked information suggests the introduction of a Hue Play Sync Box Lite and a Hue Sync Camera.

The Sync Box Lite is designed to allow lighting to react to television imagery at a significantly lower cost than the current Sync Box 8K. While the 8K model features four HDMI inputs, the Lite version is expected to have only one HDMI input and one HDMI output, supporting resolutions up to 4K at 60 fps or 1080p at 120 fps. Leaked pricing suggests the Lite version could cost approximately £109.99, a roughly 60 percent reduction from the £299.99 price point of the 8K model.

Additionally, the company may be developing an adapter that would allow users to control Nanoleaf panels directly through the Philips Hue app.
