Phillip Island hosts final MotoGP Australian Grand Prix

The MotoGP championship arrives at the iconic Phillip Island circuit from October 23 to 25 for the 18th round of the 2026 season. This event marks the final time the premier class motorcycle racing series will visit the legendary 4.4-kilometer track before the Australian Grand Prix moves to a street circuit in Adelaide in 2027.

The championship battle is exceptionally tight, with Jorge Martin holding a narrow two-point lead over Marc Marquez. Martin, riding for Aprilia Racing, faces the challenge of competing at Phillip Island for the first time on the RS-GP machine, having missed the previous year's event due to injury.

While the primary duel is between Martin and Marquez, Aprilia's Marco Bezzecchi remains a significant contender. Bezzecchi sits in third place, 46 points behind the leader, following a strong recent run of form that includes five podium finishes in his last six races. Martin has suggested the title fight has effectively narrowed to these three riders.
