Phạm Hoàng Anh to Boost Holding in SMC by Buying 5 Million Shares

Phạm Hoàng Anh, chairman of the board of Công ty CP Đầu tư Thương mại SMC (ticker SMC), has registered to purchase 5 million SMC shares between 3 August and 28 August 2026. The deal, to be executed via a match‑order or agreement, is valued at roughly VND 50 billion and would raise his ownership from about 1 million shares (1.36 % of the capital) to 6 million shares, or 8.14 % of the company’s capital.

In a similar insider‑buying move, Nguyễn Đức Tài, chairman of the board of Thế Giới Di Động (ticker MWG), filed to acquire 1 million MWG shares from 31 July to 28 August 2026, increasing his stake from 2.19 % to 2.26 % of the company. This comes as MWG’s share price has fallen sharply, from VND 92,300 to VND 66,500. Both transactions occur amid broader market weakness, with SMC’s share price down more than 30 % since early July, hitting a one‑year low.
