Phoenix Contact launches 65W USB PD switching power supply

Phoenix Contact has expanded its STEP3 series of compact, low-profile switching power supplies with the introduction of the STEP3 USB-PD model. This new addition supports USB Power Delivery (PD) with a maximum output of 65W, designed specifically for use in narrow spaces such as thin control cabinets and distribution boards used in building automation.

The STEP3 USB-PD features a compact housing with a width of 36mm and provides an output voltage range of 5.2 to 28V via a USB Type-C port. This allows for stable power delivery to devices requiring high output or rapid charging. The series also includes 18mm wide models for USB Type-A and Type-C, suitable for powering single-board computers or serving as mobile device charging points within control panels.

Additional variations include a protected coating model, which uses acrylic resin on both sides of the PCB to withstand moisture and dust, and a Power over Ethernet (PoE) model that outputs 48V DC using a screwless Push-in connection method to save space and reduce wiring labor.
