Phoenix Hagen signs US forward Tyler Polley as playoff clash with Eisbären Bremerhaven looms

German Basketball Bundesliga club Phoenix Hagen has signed American forward Tyler Polley to a contract running through the summer of 2027. The 2.06‑metre player, a former University of Connecticut Husky who appeared in two March Madness tournaments, brings European experience from stints with PAOK in Greece, Kolossos Rhodos, and the NBA G‑League. Coach Chris Harris highlighted Polley's social skills, work ethic and stretch‑four abilities as a tactical asset for the team.

In the league playoffs, Phoenix Hagen faces Eisbären Bremerhaven in a best‑of‑five semifinal series. After a narrow 78‑83 loss in the fourth game, the Bremerhaven side must win the upcoming match in Bremen’s ÖVB Arena to force a decisive fifth game. Head coach Steven Esterkamp expects strong fan support in Bremen and stresses the need for a victory to keep the series alive.
