Phoenix Murder Charges Against Troy Yazzie and Jaheime Rashard Brown

Phoenix police have charged 31‑year‑old Troy Yazzie with second‑degree murder after his 76‑year‑old roommate, Manuel Martinez, died from head injuries sustained during an argument over an electric bill on April 30. Yazzie allegedly struck Martinez with a construction helmet, fled the scene, and was later arrested in Flagstaff and returned to Maricopa County on a $1 million bond.

In a separate incident, Maricopa County prosecutors have indicted 21‑year‑old Jaheime Rashard Brown on a second‑degree murder count for the July 18 shooting that killed 22‑year‑old Julio Angel Osife Diaz near a Phoenix gas station. Brown was detained after the shooting and is also being held on a $1 million cash bond.
