Photographer Eran Yerushalmi captures 30,000 images using only iPhones

Eran Yerushalmi, a Tel Aviv-based photographer known as CHIEF, has documented a 17-year photographic journey using only iPhones. Since 2009, Yerushalmi has captured approximately 30,000 images across 16 different generations of the device, ranging from early 2-3 megapixel models to the iPhone 16 Pro Max.

His work often focuses on the shoreline and rain-soaked streets of Tel Aviv, frequently utilizing reflections in puddles and water to create signature mirror images. Yerushalmi’s iPhone-only portfolio has been exhibited in large formats and featured in various Israeli media outlets, including Channel 13 and newspapers such as Yedioth Ahronoth and Maariv.
