Photographer Michele Borzoni to present ‘Silent Springs’ in Zagreb
Award-winning Italian photographer Michele Borzoni will visit Zagreb to present his latest photographic project, ‘Silent Springs’. The presentation is scheduled to take place during the 18th ZeGeVege festival, held from September 4 to 6, 2026, at Europski trg.
Developed between 2021 and 2024 in collaboration with photographer Rocco Rorandelli, the project documents climate activism across Europe. Borzoni’s work captures the actions of movements such as Extinction Rebellion, Code Rouge, Ende Gelände, and Last Generation, focusing on infrastructure blockades and civil disobedience.
The project, named after Rachel Carson’s seminal 1962 book, also addresses the increasing criminalization of environmental protests. The photography explores the legal repression and harsh penalties faced by young activists who use disruptive methods to demand systemic social and environmental changes.
