Photographers present new works in Mexico and Spain

Several photography book presentations are scheduled at cultural institutions. In Mexico, Ilse Cabanillas will present her photobook ‘Donde aprendimos a mirarnos’ at the Centro Fotográfico Manuel Álvarez Bravo. The event includes a dialogue with Valeria Salas regarding the visual and narrative processes of the project.

In Spain, photographer J. M. Magano will present his book ‘Mucho por ver’ at the Museo Evaristo Valle in Gijón to mark World Photography Day. The work features 31 images created using the kalitipia technique. Magano, who has experienced significant vision loss since 2019, discusses the distinction between seeing and looking, utilizing memory and imagination to inform his photographic work.
