Photography awards recognize Spanish landscapes and heritage
Several photography competitions in Spain have highlighted regional landscapes and historical sites. In Los Santos de Maimona, Cristina Luna Santiago won the XXII ‘La foto del verano 2026’ contest with her photograph ‘El cielo abraza el mar’. The competition, organized by the local Youth Department and the Universidad Popular Santeña, featured 42 entries from 19 participants.
In a separate national contest, Miriam Blanco Carazo received a special mention in the sixth edition of ‘Mi Rincón Favorito’. Her winning image features the Roman ruins of Augustóbriga in Bohonal de Ibor, set against the backdrop of the Milky Way. The contest, held in connection with World Tourism Day, aims to promote Spanish cultural and historical heritage through social media.
