Photography exhibitions feature Cristina de Middel and Martin Parr

Two significant photography exhibitions are being highlighted in Spain.

Cristina de Middel, a Spanish photographer and member of Magnum Photos, has released a new book titled ‘Apoteosis Now’ published by Editorial RM. The book accompanies her major exhibition at the IVAM and features over 150 images spanning two decades. Her work explores the boundary between reality and fiction, using staged elements, humor, and absurdity to challenge the perceived certainty of documentary photography.

In Madrid, the Galería Marc Bibiloni is hosting ‘A Matter of Taste’, an exhibition showcasing four decades of work by photographer Martin Parr. The collection documents societal transformations from the Thatcher era to the digital age, focusing on how mass tourism and neoliberalism influence global consumption patterns. The works span various international locations, including Rio de Janeiro, Paris, and Pyongyang.
