Photography exhibitions highlight community and heritage in Poland

Various photography exhibitions are highlighting local history and community creativity in Poland. In Szczecin, the Szczecińskie Towarzystwo Fotograficzne is organizing the ‘Galeria Bezdomna’ (Homeless Gallery) event. This spontaneous, one-day exhibition allows anyone to bring their own printed photographs and display them in an abandoned villa near Rondo Szarych Szeregów. The event features no curators or selection process, aiming to provide a free space for photographers to connect and debut their work.

In Świebodzice, the ‘Kapsuła Czasu’ (Time Capsule) exhibition by Krzysztof Lis was opened at the Municipal Public Library. Part of the European Heritage Days, the exhibition uses photography to document defunct industrial sites that shaped the city, including Famalen, the Lower Silesian Furniture Factory, the local brewery, and Silena. The exhibition serves as a visual record of the town's industrial identity and the people who worked there.
