Photography exhibitions highlight Parisian history in Rome and Stockholm

Two major photography exhibitions are currently highlighting the visual history of Paris.

In Rome, the Museo del Genio is hosting a large exhibition dedicated to Robert Doisneau, running from March 5 until July 19, 2026. The showcase features over 140 black-and-white images that trace the career of the French humanist photographer from the 1930s through his mature works. Notable pieces include the iconic "Le baiser de l’Hôtel de Ville" (1950).

Meanwhile, at the Moderna Museet in Stockholm, the exhibition "Brassaï – The Secret Signs of Paris" is on display until October 4. The exhibition presents more than 160 images by Brassaï, focusing on his documentation of the nocturnal and often marginalized aspects of 1930s Paris, including street life, cafes, and subcultures.
