Photography exhibitions highlight Sergio Larrain and urban self-portraiture

Several photography exhibitions are opening to showcase diverse perspectives on street photography and historical archives.

The International Center of Photography (ICP) is presenting ‘Sergio Larrain: Wanderings’, an exhibition featuring copies from the Magnum Photos archive. Curated by Agnès Sire, the collection focuses on the first twenty years of the Chilean photographer's career, capturing scenes from Valparaíso, Santiago, Paris, and London. The exhibition, which runs until January 12, 2026, highlights Larrain’s humanist and spiritual approach to capturing reality.

In Mexico, the Centro Queretano de la Imagen (CQI) has inaugurated ‘Ciudad Prestada 4.0’ to mark World Photography Day. The exhibition features members of the Errante Collective alongside guest photographers, exploring the concept of self-portraiture within street photography. Inspired by the work of Vivian Maier, the artists use reflections, shadows, and urban elements in Querétaro to represent the photographer as both an observer and a participant in the city. The show is open to the public until October 20.
