Photovoltaic PPA prices continue upward trend in August

The Enervis PPA-Price-Tracker indicates that photovoltaic Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) prices continued an upward trend in August. Prices on the EEX electricity futures market for August 2026 rose compared to the previous month, with the upward movement particularly evident in the front delivery years, though higher price levels were also observed in more distant trading years.

This increase in the average futures price level, which serves as a benchmark for PPA pricing, positively impacts both short-term hedging and long-term PPA durations. For a ten-year photovoltaic PPA starting in the front month of September 2026, generic prices were calculated to be in the range of 28 to 40 euros per megawatt-hour, accounting for standard market discounts for generation profiles, settlement, risk costs, and expected revenues from guarantees of origin.
