Phthiotis, Greece: Wolves approach hunters near residential areas

In the Palea Giannitsa region of Western Phthiotis, hunters have reported close encounters with wolves that showed little fear of human presence. In one incident, a hunter fired shots into the air to deter two wolves approaching his hunting dog, but the animals remained calm and continued to observe the dog.

A second incident was reported involving another hunter gathering chestnuts, who noted that two wolves approached him and failed to retreat despite his shouting.

Local residents and livestock farmers have expressed growing concern regarding the proximity of these predators to homes and settlements. The hunters involved have called for immediate measures to address the situation, citing fears that the animals' behavior could lead to potential attacks on humans.
