Phu Quoc energy projects energized for APEC 2027

The Southern Power Corporation (EVNSPC) has completed the energization of three key energy infrastructure projects in Phu Quoc, totaling an investment of nearly 2,165 billion VND. These projects are designed to ensure power supply capacity for the Phu Quoc Special Zone and to support the upcoming APEC 2027 summit.

The completed works include the 220 kV Phu Quoc substation, the 110 kV Phu Quoc – North Phu Quoc line, and the 110 kV Phu Quoc – South Phu Quoc line. Despite challenges such as land clearance issues, labor shortages, and adverse weather conditions, the projects were completed on schedule.

Specifically, the 110 kV Phu Quoc – South Phu Quoc line, costing over 934 billion VND, was energized on August 16, 2026. The 220 kV Phu Quoc substation, with an investment of 877.6 billion VND, was successfully energized on August 19, 2026. Finally, the 110 kV Phu Quoc – North Phu Quoc line, costing nearly 353 billion VND, was energized on August 28, 2026.
