Phu Quoc factory director prosecuted for industrial waste dumping

Authorities in An Giang province have prosecuted Huynh Quoc Khanh, a factory director, and Phan Minh Thin for environmental pollution in Phu Quoc. The investigation involves the illegal transport and dumping of 1,900 tons of industrial waste used for land leveling.

Khanh, who managed concrete production at the Suoi Lon branch of CPCKBTNT2 Company, reportedly stockpiled concrete by-products on unprotected land without proper containment or treatment. He then sold the waste to Thin at a rate of 20,000 VND per cubic meter. Thin subsequently hired a third party to transport and dump the 1,900 tons of waste across two different land plots in the Duong Dong and Cua Duong areas of Phu Quoc.
