Phu Tho General Hospital saves patient after 15 cardiac arrests

Doctors at Phu Tho General Hospital successfully saved a 69-year-old patient who experienced approximately 15 instances of cardiac arrest due to dangerous arrhythmia. The patient, M. Q. C., had a medical history including hypertension, atrial fibrillation, and heart failure.

Following admission with chest pain and shortness of breath, the patient's condition deteriorated, leading to multiple episodes of ventricular fibrillation and torsion tachycardia. Despite intensive cardiopulmonary resuscitation and continuous blood filtration to manage multi-organ failure and metabolic disorders, the patient remained in a deep coma.

To stabilize the heart rhythm and prevent further arrests, medical teams performed a permanent pacemaker implantation combined with atrial node ablation. After a week of intensive treatment, the patient has begun to recover.
