Vietnam medical reports highlight diverse clinical successes

Various medical cases in Vietnam highlight diverse health challenges and successful clinical interventions. At the National Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology, doctors successfully performed a complex dual surgery—a cesarean section combined with a radical hysterectomy—on a woman who had been diagnosed with cervical cancer at 12 weeks of pregnancy and underwent chemotherapy to protect her fetus.

In Vinh Long, a 7-month-old infant required intensive treatment, including five vials of antivenom, after being bitten by a highly venomous red-tailed green pit viper hiding under a toy car. Meanwhile, in Ninh Binh, a 58-year-old woman underwent surgery at Bach Mai Hospital to remove a fish bone that had caused an abscess in her neck after remaining lodged for 16 days.

Emergency care was also highlighted in Phu Tho, where a 36-year-old woman was treated for Grade III anaphylaxis following a single bee sting to the neck. Finally, a patient in Bac Ninh saw significant improvement in psoriatic arthritis symptoms after undergoing 13 rounds of biological drug therapy, demonstrating the efficacy of advanced treatments for chronic inflammatory conditions.
