Phu Tho pharmacy employee prosecuted for embezzling 356 million VND

Phu Tho Provincial Police have prosecuted Nguyen Chung Thuy, a sales employee at a pharmacy under the Thanh Ba Regional Medical Center, for embezzlement. Thuy, born in 1997, was responsible for collecting, managing, and submitting revenue from medicine sales to the Vietnam Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company.

Investigations revealed that throughout 2023, Thuy exploited a lack of regular supervision to withhold sales revenue for personal use. The total amount misappropriated from the company is identified as 356,712,286 VND.

On August 25, 2026, authorities issued a criminal case prosecution and charged Thuy under Clause 2, Article 353 of the Penal Code. The police are continuing to strengthen the case file to clarify all illegal actions. Authorities have advised businesses and agencies to enhance financial management and oversight, particularly for staff handling direct cash transactions.
