Vietnam police arrest multiple suspects in various crime cases

Authorities in Vietnam have conducted several criminal investigations and arrests across various provinces. In Hanoi, police have detained Lê Xuân Việt, a security guard at the Louis City urban area, for “Gây rối trật tự công cộng” (disturbing public order) after he filmed assaulting a delivery driver who had mistakenly entered a car-only lane.

In Phú Thọ, three former commune officials, including former Chairman Trần Văn Trò, have been prosecuted for land management violations involving the unauthorized leasing of riverbank land, which resulted in a discrepancy of over 228,000 square meters between contracted and actual usage areas.

Other notable legal actions include the arrest of Nguyễn Thị Dung in Đà Nẵng for fraud after she allegedly borrowed 1.192 billion VND from 14 people under false pretenses. In Hưng Yên, Lâm Văn Thới was prosecuted for illegally retaining 130 million VND transferred to his account by mistake. Additionally, police in Cần Thơ apprehended Nguyễn Ngọc Minh, a man wanted for nearly 29 years following an escape from custody in 1997.

In a major drug trafficking crackdown, Hanoi police dismantled a network led by Ngô Thị Trang that distributed Etomidate disguised as e-cigarette liquid. The operation targeted a ring with estimated transaction volumes of approximately 100 billion VND.
