Ho Chi Minh City police prosecute four for illegal waste dumping

Ho Chi Minh City police have prosecuted and detained four individuals for environmental pollution following the discovery of two large-scale illegal waste dumping operations.

In the first case, authorities discovered that 439.6 tons of common solid waste, specifically construction debris, had been illegally dumped and buried in An Phu Dong Ward. Nguyen Thi Thuy Diem, who manages the land, and Nguyen Van Hoang were arrested in connection with the incident.

In a second operation, police identified 625.89 tons of untreated construction waste being illegally stockpiled in Long Huong Ward. Investigations revealed that Ho Sy Tu had stockpiled the waste and sold 369.2 tons to Bui Van Tay for illegal landfilling. Both Ho Sy Tu and Bui Van Tay have been prosecuted.
