Vietnam police dismantle cybercrime rings and update VNeID

Vietnamese authorities have taken significant actions against various criminal activities. The Ministry of Public Security, led by Deputy Minister Nguyễn Văn Long, commended units for dismantling three criminal rings operated by Bùi Xuân Huấn (Huấn Hoa Hồng), Lê Văn Phú (Phú Lê), and Vũ Hoàng Hải (Hải Sapa TV). These groups were involved in cyber-enabled crimes, including fraud, deceptive customer practices, serious accounting violations, and illegal invoice issuance. Seventeen suspects have been prosecuted.

In a separate development, the VNeID application has integrated a new feature to display information on 7,364 wanted individuals nationwide. This update allows citizens to search for criminal profiles, including names, birth years, and crime types, to assist in public security efforts.

Other law enforcement actions include the arrest of 20 individuals in Đồng Nai for inter-provincial drug trafficking and the prosecution of four directors in Phú Thọ for intellectual property violations, specifically the illegal copying of Microsoft software. Additionally, a man in Đà Lạt was fined 2 million VND for animal cruelty involving an Alaska dog at Lâm Viên Square.
