Vietnam implements advanced traffic surveillance and safety initiatives

Vietnam is expanding its traffic management capabilities through technological integration and community outreach. In Ho Chi Minh City, authorities are connecting security and traffic surveillance cameras with the national population database to enhance smart urban management and violation processing. Similarly, Dong Nai has deployed 762 cameras, including 250 AI-powered units, to monitor traffic violations such as signal non-compliance and improper lane usage.

On the social front, the Ministry of Public Security and the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha have concluded a three-year partnership that reached over 1.17 million monks and Buddhists with traffic safety education. In local enforcement, police in Son La are intensifying inspections of commercial transport vehicles to ensure compliance with license plate regulations, while authorities in Khanh Hoa are utilizing the VNeTraffic application to process citizen reports regarding illegal parking.

Other recent activities include the detection of speeding violations in Bac Ninh and An Giang via camera systems, and the interception of 250kg of animal products without origin documentation in Phu Tho. Additionally, traffic police in Hanoi provided emergency escort services to transport a critically ill patient to the hospital.
