Phu Tho Province hosts first Phu Dong Health Festival

The first Phu Dong Health Festival of Phu Tho province has officially commenced, featuring over 17,000 student athletes. The event serves as a major school sports movement to promote physical fitness and comprehensive education for the younger generation.

Prior to the opening, organizers held a traditional flame-seeking ceremony at the Hung Temple historical site. This ritual, involving leaders from the Department of Education and Training and representative athletes, involved offering incense to the Hung Kings to symbolize wisdom and strength. The sacred flame was then carried to the provincial sports training and competition center.

The festival includes competitions across 15 different sports for students ranging from primary to high school levels, as well as those in continuing education centers. The event aims to foster solidarity, talent, and a spirit of sportsmanship among students across the province.
