Phu Tho province implements green economy and technological development strategies

Phu Tho province is advancing several strategic initiatives focused on sustainable development, technological innovation, and economic diversification.

In the forestry sector, the province is transitioning from short-cycle timber production to large-scale, high-quality wood forestry. By adopting FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) standards, local foresters aim to increase economic value by 15-20% and meet international market demands for sustainable raw materials.

To drive a green economy and reach Net Zero goals, the provincial government is investing heavily in science and technology. A budget of approximately 20,718 billion VND is expected to be allocated for technological solutions. Furthermore, the province has proposed a 50 billion VND national-level scientific project focused on circular economy models and low-emission green agriculture integrated with ESG standards.

In tourism, Phu Tho is leveraging regional connections—linking sites like Hung Temple with hot spring resorts—to boost its service economy. The province reported approximately 13.4 million visitors and a revenue of nearly 13,700 billion VND in the first nine months of 2026. Major investments, including a 21,000 billion VND hot spring resort complex by Sun Group, are underway to enhance high-end hospitality infrastructure.
