Phú Thọ implements emergency waste disposal plan for Vĩnh Yên and Vĩnh Phúc

Authorities in Phú Thọ province have implemented an emergency plan to address significant domestic waste accumulation in the Vĩnh Yên and Vĩnh Phúc wards. The crisis arose after residents blocked access to the Núi Bông temporary landfill, disrupting collection and transport services.

To prevent environmental pollution and potential security issues, the provincial government has authorized the temporary transfer of approximately 126 tons of daily waste to the waste-to-energy plant in Trạm Thản. The waste will be stored in the plant's storage tanks, which have a capacity of roughly 10,000 tons, while legal requirements for full plant operation are finalized.

Tianyu Phú Thọ Environmental Energy Co., Ltd. is responsible for receiving and storing the waste to ensure no leakage or odor issues occur. Local authorities have also been instructed to increase patrols to prevent illegal dumping and to manage the Núi Bông site through dialogue and stricter enforcement.
