Phu Ung Thien relic site conservation and cultural industry development
A scientific workshop was held in Van Dinh Commune, Hanoi, to discuss the protection and promotion of the Phu Ung Thien relic site in connection with the development of a sustainable cultural industry.
Phu Ung Thien, also known as Khanh Hoa Linh Tu, is a significant historical and cultural site dedicated to the worship of Mother Goddess Lieu Hanh, central to the Vietnamese Mother Goddess worship tradition. The site features architecture dating back to the early Nguyen Dynasty, including structures such as the outer gate, three-entrance gate, and various inner halls. It houses valuable artifacts, including bronze bells from the Nguyen Dynasty, horizontal lacquered boards, and imperial decrees.
Experts and officials from the Department of Cultural Heritage and the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports attended the event. While the site remains a vital center for spiritual and community life, participants noted that several components of the relic have degraded over time. Discussions focused on the need for restoration and investment to preserve these historical values while integrating them into modern cultural and economic development strategies.
