Obertshausen: Woman killed in suspected attack, husband arrested

A 51-year-old woman has died following a suspected violent attack in Obertshausen, Germany. Police were alerted to the incident at a residential home around 11:10 p.m. on Saturday, September 26.

Officers discovered the woman with severe injuries showing signs of significant violence. Despite resuscitation efforts, she passed away shortly after being transported to a hospital.

A 57-year-old man, identified as the victim's husband, was arrested without resistance in Klein-Krotzenburg during a nighttime manhunt involving police vehicles and a helicopter. He is scheduled to appear before an investigating judge on Monday, September 28.

The Darmstadt Public Prosecutor's Office and the Offenbach Criminal Police have launched an investigation into suspected homicide. Authorities have secured extensive evidence at the scene and have planned an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
