Phuket reports incidents of misconduct by foreign visitors

Multiple incidents involving foreign visitors in Phuket have drawn local attention to public nuisance and misconduct in tourist areas. In the Karon area, CCTV footage captured a foreign woman urinating at the entrance of a beachwear shop before walking away.

In Patong, a travel agency worker alleged she was spat at by a woman believed to be part of a group of foreign beggars from the Middle East. The confrontation reportedly occurred after the employee asked the woman to stop soliciting money from customers near the business. The incident has sparked discussions regarding the presence of foreign beggars operating in popular tourist zones.

Local residents and business owners have previously highlighted issues such as public urination and defecation, with some citing a shortage of public toilets as a contributing factor. Under Thai law, such actions are considered offenses under public cleanliness and nuisance regulations.
