Portugal’s Algarve and Madeira secured high positions thanks to dramatic cliffs, grottos and wildlife‑watching opportunities. Other sought‑after locations include Paphos in Cyprus, the Greek island Karpathos and Sal in Cape Verde, each offering a mix of secluded beaches, snorkeling and cultural stops.
